Description
Position SummaryThe School of Business & Economics at Indiana University Northwest welcomes applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer of Management Information Systems with an anticipated start date of Spring 2026. This is a 10-month full-time, non-tenure-track academic appointment with potential for reappointment.
The position is responsible for teaching four courses each semester in Management Information Systems and related courses at the undergraduate level and at the graduate level if the successful candidate holds a doctorate or terminal degree. Undergraduate teaching load may include courses such as BUS -K 211: Introduction to Information Systems for Business, BUS -K 321: Management of Information Technology, and BUS -K 353: Business Analytics & Modeling among others. A productive program of professional development is expected, along with active involvement in service functions.
The IU Northwest School of Business & Economics employs 15 full-time faculty, and its programs are fully accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International). Faculty are engaged in teaching and research that is applied, basic, or pedagogic. Faculty also support the economic development of the region by engaging in mutually beneficial collaborations with local organizations and community members.
ABOUT INDIANA UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST
One of nine campuses of Indiana University, IU Northwest is located in metropolitan Northwest Indiana, approximately 30 miles southeast of Chicago and 10 miles from the Indiana Dunes National Park. The campus has a student population of approximately 3,200 degree-seeking students and more than 30,000 alumni, most of whom remain in the Northwest Indiana
region, and has been recognized by the Department of Education as a minority and Hispanic serving institution. Basic Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- An earned master's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration with a focus on Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Industry experience related to Management Information Systems.
- Experience using and applying modern technology systems and software in a business or professional environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- An earned doctorate in Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution.
- Industry experience and/or certifications, especially in the areas of Cybersecurity or Generative AI.
- Experience in corporate training or teaching at the collegiate level on Management Information Systems topics.
- Experience in corporate training or teaching at the collegiate level in a variety of delivery methods, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.
- Evidence of engagement with community, municipal, private-sector and non-profit groups.
- Demonstrated interest and ability in working with underserved and under-resourced students.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, professionally and respectfully.
