Description

Come join Segra and grow your career with us as we continue to provide our customers with a superior customer experience!

Who is Segra?

We are one of the largest independent fiber network companies in the Eastern US. Segra has a broad and dense service footprint across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. We are known for our future-forward infrastructure and state-of-the-art voice and data technology solutions for businesses and the public sector, as well as wholesale transport services to some of the world’s largest carriers. Our network features the latest advances in IP, Ethernet, and dark fiber architectures, as well as high-performance data centers throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. In addition, our network powers technology solutions such as Hosted Voice, Security, and Cloud.

We have engineered our entire company operations to put our employees and customers at the center of everything we do. We invest in the communities of our employees and customers by hiring the best local talent and continually upgrading our network infrastructure. We have over 900 employees in 90 facilities, including 14 sales offices in 44 markets. We exist purely to help people and businesses within our footprint be successful.

Segra is now seeking an SR Network Automation Engineer who is part of the Network Strategy team that works to enhance our efficiency in standards definition and forward direction of Segra’s IP, MPLS, and Ethernet networks. The SR Network Automation Engineer will leverage their strong knowledge of service provider networks, software development, and Linux systems to develop tools to automate testing, lab topologies, network configurations, and documentation. The Automation Engineer and the tools and systems they develop will facilitate the highest possible output from the Network Strategy team. Separately, this position will also define software data structures, API interfaces and business logic requirements to assist in network automation of the production network. The Network Automation Engineer will work with other software development teams to implement the requirements into software code modules, which will require a mix of both creating codes directly and providing a specific language for other teams to code.
