Description

The New Plymouth District Council is looking for an effective leader for our network reticulation team delivering three waters' services.

Through this full-time, permanent role you can contribute to providing high-quality core water services to protect public health and the environment.

The position

This role involves overseeing the efficient and safe operation and maintenance of the water, wastewater and stormwater networks. You will manage the customer interface for water and waste reticulated customers and ensure all levels of services and regulatory obligations are met.

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Level 7 or 8 tertiary qualification in civil engineering or relevant discipline
  • 15 or more years' experience in operating and maintaining water, wastewater and/or stormwater networks
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing and leading a team
  • Collaboration to enhance team performance
  • Ability to provide clear direction and set standards for behaviour
  • Cultural awareness
